POSITION STATEMENT FOR EDUCATION TOPIC
The opportunity to start and finish Pathway, has given me a great sense of the importance of pursuing an education. My mind and my heart have been expanded to new horizons. I am excited about learning and about finishing my school, I can see I can do it. The Lord has given me the spiritual means to do it. I am forever grateful with Him for His tender mercies and His infinite love.
"We encourage our youth in every country to get an education. Even if at times it seems hopeless. With determination and faith in the Lord, you will be blessed with success. It is a dream well worth pursuing. On one occasion, I spent a few minutes with a young man who had left high school and entered the military. Now he was trying to decide what to do with his life. I encouraged him to return to finish high school. I did not provide him with money; the Church had no school for him, not even a scholarship. In those few minutes, I simply taught him that self-reliance which is such a part of our way of life. Even though over age, he returned to finish high school, and now he provides for his family and encourages his children in their search for truth."

Not long after the pioneers began construction of their temple in Illinois, they established the University of the City of Nauvoo. She enlisted mysister and me in her business. With my bike I became the pickup and delivery service. It felt good to be able to help the family in a small way, and though I did notknow it at the time, the physical labor turned out to bea blessing to my health as well."

"I read in a newspaper a few weeks ago of the earning
potential with increased levels of education. The difference between no high
school degree and a high school graduate is an average income increase of 38
percent. From a high school diploma to some college, the increase is 20
percent, and from a high school diploma to a university degree, the increase is
56 percent. Yes, education does pay. It is never too early to determine the
direction you want to prepare yourself for. Don’t wait until you register for
college to decide what you want to study. It is such a waste of time and money
to attempt to pursue an education without having a definite goal."

Gordon B. Hinckley wisely counseled the youth of the Church: “The pattern of
study you establish during your formal schooling will in large measure affect

Marriage
POSITION STATEMENT FOR MARRIAGE TOPIC
I come from a broken family.I made the promise to myself that I would do the best I could to keep my marriage happy and my family together. The church and the gospel have been the key to achieve this goal. Next month is my 25th anniversary and I am happier than every with my husband, that does not mean we have had no problems or trials, that means that we have strengthen each other while we go through them. I am grateful for my husband who is a worthy man, who loves his family more than anything in this world. Marriage is a "shelter" like stated by Pte. Packer, I feel protected because I have an eternal marriage.

Forgiveness
POSITION STATEMENT FOR FORGIVENESS TOPIC
I have pondered many times what is the true purpose of this life; even though we know that we come to be tested. I think the hardest and toughest test is to learn to forgive others, forgive ourselves and ask for forgiveness when we offend someone. When I was younger I had a bit of an entitlement feeling. I thought I had been hurt by people that loved me and I just deserved for others to ask for my forgiveness, how silly of me! I needed to repent about so many things. I have hurt many people around me because my attitude was wrong. I feel so humble about "forgiveness". I have pleaded myself for forgiveness from my Father in Heaven.I have experienced in my own life the power of forgiveness and the miracle of repentance. This is the greatest gift from God! I am forever grateful for this gift.
“The Church is not an automobile showroom—a place to put ourselves on display so that others can admire our spirituality, capacity, or prosperity. It is more like a service center, where vehicles in need of repair come for maintenance and rehabilitation. And are we not, all of us, in need of repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation? We come to church not to hide our problems but to heal them. And as priesthood holders, we have an additional responsibility—to “feed the flock of God… , not by constraint, but willingly; not for [personal gain] but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock."

"We have each felt to some extent these spiritual arms around
us. We have felt His forgiveness, His love and comfort. The Lord has said, “I am
he [who] comforteth you.”
The Lord’s desire that we come unto Him and be wrapped in
His arms is often an invitation to repent. “Behold, he sendeth an invitation
unto all men, for the arms of mercy are extended towards them, and he saith:
Repent, and I will receive you.”
"I am amazed at the Savior’s encircling arms of mercy and
love for the repentant, no matter how selfish the forsaken sin. I testify that
the Savior is able and eager to forgive our sins. Except for the sins of those
few who choose perdition after having known a fullness, there is no sin that
cannot be forgiven. What a marvelous privilege for each of us to turn away from
our sins and to come unto Christ. Divine forgiveness is one of the sweetest
fruits of the gospel, removing guilt and pain from our hearts and replacing
them with joy and peace of conscience. Jesus declares, “Will ye not now return
unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?”
"If as an innocent victim you have been seriously wronged,
don’t harbor feelings of hatred, anger at what appears to be unjust. Forgive
the offender even when you are innocent. To do that may require an enormous
effort on your part. Such forgiveness is most difficult, but it is the sure
path to peace and healing. If there is discipline required for a serious
transgression against you, leave that to the Church and civil authorities.
Don’t burden your own life with thoughts of retribution. The Lord’s mill of justice
grinds slowly, but it grinds exceedingly well. In the Lord’s economy, no one
will escape the consequences of unresolved violation of His laws. In His time
and in His way full payment will be required for unrepented evil acts."
Missionary Service
POSITION STATEMENT FOR MISSIONARY WORK TOPIC
Missionary work has a special meaning in my life right now. My son is serving a full time mission in Lima, Peru. His decision was not easy as he is our only child. It was hard to think that even thought this was the right thing to do, our heart was aching from letting him go. Even though this was hard, I never doubted. When he was born, I was very excited to think he could be a missionary one day. I never picture him as a professional singer, or a politician or someone in the show business, I always imagine him as a missionary of the Lord, preaching the gospel somewhere in the world. I am so happy Ben, my son, decided to serve the Lord in all his capacity, with all his heart, might and soul. The best part is that gradually he is moving us into becoming better missionaries. He has asked us to do some missionary work everyday, he calls missionary work, the best and most important work in the gospel. He loves his mission. He said in his weekly email today, "I'm so grateful for the atonement of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is my older brother, my king, my prince of peace, and my foundation. Now I know why I needed to come to the mission. It all started with an act of faith and now its sprouting into something immensely big." This is the true church, if missionary work can grow this awesome testimony in a 19 year old young man, then I must be true.

"I don’t know if missionaries realize the far-reaching impact
of their work. In my own family, the blessings of the gospel have now touched
four generations. Didn’t President Gordon B. Hinckley say that “when we save a
girl, we save generations”? 6 I got
married in the temple and have eight children. They are all faithful members of
the Church, endowed in the temple. Six of them are now married and have their
own children. At present there are 34 of us. And that is not all. Both my
husband and I served missions, and our two sons and three of our six daughters
have also served missions. Collectively we have helped hundreds embrace the
gospel in many countries. Some of those converts and their children have also
served missions. Missionary work is the
lifeblood of the Church. There is no greater work, no more important work. It

The decisions I have made in my life have determine the direction I want to move and go for all eternity. I know that we are surrounded by evilness, our kids are exposed at a very young age to many undesirable images, Satan knows that if he pollutes the mind of a young man, these images will echo in his mind constantly and the addiction will form at a young age and it will be harder to stop that addiction and leave it. I have always paid very close attention to the programs we watch at home, I always told my son that he should be very careful what he watched because that will determine the path he will go for the rest of his life. I could see as he matured that he started to take wiser decisions on what to watch.I took the decision not to watch pornography because I knew that if I did the rest of my family could fall into that habit too.

Agency
POSITION STATEMENT FOR AGENCY TOPIC
One of the most important, if not the most important of all is the principle of agency. We should all know that this is a precious gift from our Father in Heaven. We must choose wisely, because we are free according to our good choices. I love this principle, I love to have the freedom to choose, and when I choose wisely I love the feeling of peace I receive as a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that that is what I should do. Many people declare that free to choose is the same as freedom to choose, but when we crate addictions because of our poor choices, thinking that we are free to choose anything, then we must know that we have used our agency in detriment of our life.
"God reveals to His prophets that there are moral absolutes. Sin will always be sin. Disobedience to the Lord’s commandments will always deprive us of His blessings. The world changes constantly and dramatically, but God, His commandments, and promised blessings do not change. They are immutable and unchanging. Men and women receive their agency as a gift from God, but their liberty and, in turn, their eternal happiness come from obedience to His laws. As Alma counseled his errant son Corianton, “Wickedness never was happiness” (Alma 41:10).
